Hi! Danielle here from Korker Krazy. Have you been looking for a hair accessory that you can make for teenagers or even yourself? If so, I have the perfect project for you! These korker ponytail hair streamers are perfect for ANY age! They are simple yet can spruce up any outfit.

Supplies Needed:

  • 3/16" x 12" Wooden Dowels
  • Clothespins
  • Needle & Thread
  • Hot Glue Gun & Glue
  • Scissors
  • Lighter

Step 1: Wrap your ribbon onto the dowels. I'm using 12 dowels. Place your ribbon at the top of the dowel at an angle. Wrap the ribbon tightly to the end of the dowel and clamp with a clothespin. Repeat this for all of your dowels. I made 6 pink camo, 3 hot pink and 3 shocking pink. You can use as many korker pieces as you would like!

Step 2: After you have finished wrapping all of your dowels place them in an oven pan. Bake your ribbon in the oven for 20 minutes at 250 degrees. (Oven temps and time may vary depending on your oven). Once your ribbon is done baking remove the pan from the oven and let the ribbon cool COMPLETELY before removing from the dowels.

Step 3: Trim the ends of your korker pieces. We don't want to trim a lot off the ends - just a small piece. I trim mine at the same angle so they are all uniform. Heat seal all ends with a lighter.

Step 4: Decide on your pattern. Align the pieces in front of you and get your needle and thread ready.

Step 5: Starting with the bottom piece of ribbon align them on your needle. Don't bring the needle all the way through the ribbon. I like to fold each piece in half so I can find the center before placing it on the needle.

Step 6: Continue threading the korkers onto the needle - Make sure your pieces are lined up evenly.

Step 7: Thread your needle through the center of all korker pieces several times and then wrap the thread around the center. Tie the thread but don't cut if off.

Step 8: Using your hot glue gun, glue your ponytail elastic onto the bottom of the korkers. Wrap your thread around the hair elastic and tie a few knots. You can now cut the thread.

Step 9: Use a piece of matching 3/8" grosgrain ribbon and make a knot in the center. Heat seal both ends.

Step 10: Glue the knot onto the top center of the bow. Wrap each end around the back and glue them down. If you have too much ribbon on one end feel free to trim it but don't forget to heat seal again!
