Contributor post by Danielle at Korker Krazy

This patriotic hair clippie will be the perfect finishing touch to your little sparkler's 4th of July outfit!  Featuring red, white, and blue and the flag, this clip whips together in no time.

Supplies Needed: 3/8" Grosgrain Ribbon in red and white 3/8" Swiss Dots Grosgrain Ribbon in royal blue Needle and Thread Scissors/Wood burning tool Lighter Hot Glue Gun & Glue Alligator clip Embellishment or Rhinestone

Cut your ribbon using your wood burning tool to cut and heat seal at the same time! Royal Blue Swiss Dots - Four 2" pieces, four 2.5" pieces, four 3" pieces. Red - Four 2" pieces and four 3" pieces White - Four 2.5" pieces

Thread your needle and tie a secure knot. Line up one piece of each size of your royal blue swiss dots ribbon and thread them onto the needle, with the longest piece at the bottom. Make sure your pieces are lined up evenly on the needle.

Loop the other end of your top ribbon onto the needle, loop the middle ribbon onto the needle and do the same with the last ribbon.

Continue looping your ribbons onto the needle. You can slide the finished loops off of the needle and onto the thread.

Continue adding your loops - Use all of the royal blue ribbon.

Next line up one piece in each size of your red and white ribbon and thread them onto the needle, with the longest piece at the bottom. You should have one red 3" piece on the bottom followed by one white 2.5" piece and one red 2" piece.

Continue threading them onto your needle in the same pattern.

You should now have an 8 petal flower. Pull the two ends of your thread together and tie them off. You can play with the petals and get them exactly how you want before clipping your thread. Don't pull the thread too tightly or the petals will be smashed together.

Line your alligator clip with matching ribbon.

Hot glue your clip to the back of the flower.

Hot glue your embellishment to the front center of the flower to complete your patriotic 4th of July hair clip.
