Tis the season for fun adorable Christmas-themed hair accessories, and this reindeer hair clip fits the bill perfectly! One of the great things about hair clippies is that they can be worn by girls of all ages, young and old. These would make great gifts for student gift exchanges and also for teachers!
Supplies Needed: 3/8" Grosgrain Ribbon - Brown 7/8" Grosgrain Ribbon - Brown 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon - Red Googly Eyes Rhinestone (For the nose) Alligator Clip Scissors Lighter Hot Glue Gun & Glue
Step 1: Cut your ribbon. 3/8" Brown - (2) 1.5" Pieces, (4) 1" Pieces, (8) 3/4" Pieces 7/8" Brown - (1) 2" Piece 1/4" Red - (1) 4" Piece
Heat Seal your ribbon ends.
Step 2: Gather one 1" piece and two 3/4" pieces.
Step 3: Take your first 3/4" piece and line the end up with one end of the 1" piece. Using just a small amount of glue, glue them together. Take your second 3/4" piece and line the end up at the other end of the 1" piece. Again, only using a small amount of glue to glue the ends.
Step 4: Repeat steps 2 and 3 with the rest of your 1" and 3/4" ribbon pieces. You should now have 4 pieces, as pictured above.
Step 5: Glue one of the pieces you just made to one piece of your 1 1/2" ribbon. Start by lining up the ends and using a small amount of glue to glue the first side together. Line up the other ends and glue them together. Finally, pull apart the ribbon and put a small dot of glue in the middle to glue the centers together.
Step 6: Take another one of your small pieces that we made in step 4 and glue it to the opposite side of the piece we just made in step 5. You now have your first reindeer antler!
Step 7: Repeat the above steps to create your second reindeer antler. Glue your antlers together, side by side using a small amount of glue.
Step 8: Fold your 7/8" ribbon in half, hot glue the open ends together, forming a loop.
Step 9: With the glued end facing up, glue the eyes and nose to the loop.
Step 10: Glue your reindeer face on top of the antlers.
Step 11: (Optional) Make your little red bow with your 1/4" ribbon - glue it to the top of one of your reindeer's antlers.
Step 12: Line your alligator clip and glue it to the back of your reindeer. You can also purchase an alligator clip that is already lined with the ribbon and ready to go here.
You now have a festive lil' reindeer hair clip to wear to school, work, or your holiday parties!
